Founders of Westlake Music Academy, Marcus and Christy Klotz, formed their education empire in the Conejo Valley by combining classical and contemporary styles and serving students with a diverse interest in genres including pop, rock, and more.

Meet the Founders

Marcus and Christy Klotz have been working as musicians and teachers in the Conejo Valley for over ten years. They bonded over a love for music while attending Pepperdine University, and put down roots in this community shortly after.

When the demand for their teaching services outgrew their capacity to teach, they began hiring trusted teachers to help educate the next generation. Their modern approach to music education forms the foundation of Westlake Music Academy’s success. They truly believe that every lesson shapes a life.

Marcus holds his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Pepperdine University and his Master of Music in Choral Conducting from CSU Long Beach. Christy holds her Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Music and her Master of Science in Christian Ministry from Pepperdine University.

Marcus, Christy, and their team of impressive teachers are committed to going above and beyond for students and their families to provide a wonderful learning experience that they are sure to remember fondly for years to come.

Westlake Music Academy offers private in-home music lessons in the Conejo Valley of Southern California, and online lessons as well. We educate, motivate, and empower the next generation of musicians. We aim to provide exceptional teaching that develops confidence, ambition, and versatility in our students. We also offer group classes in Musical Theater, Songwriting, Music Theory, and more, alongside invaluable performance opportunities both within the academy and outside in the industry.
